Photography Classes Spring 2009

Professional Photographers Joanne West, Mark Skalny and Bob Estrin, and Scottsdale artist Paul Kinslow, are just a few of the volunteers who share their talents teaching photography.
January 24, 2009: Australia Day
In the eucalyptus grove, 11 am to 3 pm.
February 13 & 14, 2009: Language of Flowers
Floral exhibit and chocolate tasting event. Flower exhibit open in the Smith Building Lecture Room daily from 8 am to 5 p.m. during business hours.
February 28, 2009: World Desert Fair
From 11 am - 3 pm. Sample food, crafts and cultures from continents with desert ecosystems all around the world with a walk around the 1.5 mile long main trail
March 21, 2009: Welcome Back Buzzards Day
Welcome Back Buzzrds Day.
March 2009: Spring Plant Sale.

Across from the Wing Memorial Herb Garden from 11 am to 3 pm.
April 25, 2009: Debut Butterfly Walk
At 9:30 am. (offered again May 23, June 27, July 25 and August 22). Learn to identify Queen, Pipevine Swallowtail and Sulphur butterflies on a guided walk through the gardens at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. 9:30 am.
May 2, 2009: Dragonfly Walk
Blue-eyed Darners look stunning close-up, so carry along your binoculars and learn to identify dragonflies on a guided walk at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. 9:30 am. (Also offered June 6, July 4 and August 1).
May 9, 2009: International Migratory Bird Day
Guided bird walks at 6:30 am and exhibitor booths from 8 until 11 am.
May 23, 2009: Bio-Blitz
The 2nd annual “Bio-Blitz” event bring researchers to the Arboretum for a day of citizen science — join the search for a wide range of native and migrant species which live at the Arboretum, and learn about Arizona ecology.
May 9, 2009: Learn Your Lizards Guided Walk
At 8:30 am on May 9, June 13, July 11 and August 8. Desert Spiny Lizards grow “big as bratwursts,” see these comical reptiles and others on a guided tour at Boyce Thompson Arboretum.
