Boyce Thompson Arboretum Photo Gallery

8. Cactus flower buds attract both insects and artists, with a range of color from white to peach, orange and vivid magenta. The first cacti to flower are the hedgehogs in late winter (February – April), then the opuntias such as Prickly Pear dominate during April and May, and the saguaros blossom in May and June.
