Most Parks are located away from the major urban areas of the State. In an effort to better match the applicant with the position we have included a Location Map and a brief description of each State Park. Please consider carefully the location of the park(s) you are willing to work at when completing the supplement.
Some positions are in parks that may require the incumbent to reside on the grounds. This requirement will be part of the individual position's requirement. The agency does accommodate the incumbent in this requirement in various ways. Some positions will include housing on site, some will supply a pad and utilities where the incumbent will provide the trailer or mobile home. You need to indicate on the supplement whether or not you are interested in positions requiring residency.
Employment in these positions is contingent upon the passing of a medical/physical examination, which includes testing of ability to lift 50 pounds. This exam will be coordinated with the State of Arizona Human Resources Division, Occupational Health Services.
Some positions may require that the incumbent be, or be eligible for, certification as a Peace Officer. Peace Officer Certification has the basic criteria:
U.S. Citizenship
No felony convictions
Must be a least 21 years of age
Medical Exam
Polygraph exam
Physical Fitness Standards
Complete criminal history background check
Completion of a 14-week Police academy (after hire)
