HPAC Membership: Seven members appointed to three-year terms by the Parks Board. One must be a member of a non-profit preservation organization, two must be preservation professionals, one must be a representative of a local government preservation program, and three must be citizens-at-large who are active in or familiar with historic preservation. Residency requirements state that all must be residents of Arizona, and no more than three members may reside in the same county.

HPAC serves in an advisory capacity to the Parks Board and: 1) assists the State Historic Preservation Officer in guiding the historic preservation component of the Arizona Heritage Fund; 2) assists in the development of the Historic Preservation Plan and annual Action Plans; 3) reviews and comments on staff recommendations to the Parks Board on Arizona Heritage Fund Historic Preservation grant applications, grant policies, and funding priorities; and 4) performs other duties as requested by the Parks Board and the State Historic Preservation Officer.

HPAC Committee Member Application
Applications are being accepted to be on the HPAC committee. At the end of 2008, there will be two vacancies on the HPAC. One position is open to a member of a local government preservation program; the second position is open to a preservation professional. Residency Requirements: There are no positions open for Maricopa County. There are two positions open for all other counties. Applications are due Friday, September 16, 2008 by 5 p.m. Besides the completed application, you are also required to submit a letter of interest. Download application for complete details.
