(Phoenix, Arizona - June 9, 2009) - The Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Ambassador Volunteer Program is making an impact on OHV riding areas on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 8 a.m. The multi-agency sponsored "pancakes for the public" will be held at Cinder Hills OHV area seven miles north of Flagstaff, Arizona (Highway 89, Forest Road 776).
This project will involve OHV Ambassador Program volunteers greeting fellow OHV users with fresh pancakes, map and other information. OHV Ambassadors and other volunteers will assist in sign maintenance and clean-up of litter at various sites on U.S. Forest Service land. Road access is good for most vehicles. The public may volunteer (under the terms of an agency agreement) to assist with clean-up, outreach and sign installation activities, and are asked to bring gloves, snacks and water.
The multi-agency OHV Ambassador Program is coordinated by Arizona State Parks and is a partnership between multiple entities (Arizona State Parks, Arizona Game and Fish Department, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Arizona County Sheriffs, organized OHV groups and volunteers) to enhance and conserve motorized recreation opportunities in Arizona.
