Interpretive Education Volunteers
are Needed in the Lake Havasu Area

(Phoenix, Arizona - October 29, 2007) - A Volunteer Open House will be held on Thursday, November 15th and on Saturday, November 17th. Volunteers will work at State Parks in the Lake Havasu area including Lake Havasu State Park, Cattail Cove State Park, Buckskin Mountain State Park and River Island State Park.

There are many interesting positions available for people with all types of skills. Volunteers may be asked to give presentations and guided hikes on wildlife, history and stargazing, or help with interpretive trail building, cactus garden care and maintenance, or create educations signs and publications for parks or help with outreach efforts within the community.

During each one-hour Volunteer Open House, interested individuals will learn what volunteers do and what training and benefits are available. The session on November 15th will begin at 10 a.m. at The Mohave County Library located at 1770 N. McCulloch Boulevard in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The session on November 17th will begin at 10 a.m. at The Water Safety Center located at 1801 Highway 95 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Lake Havasu State Park offers 42 campsites and hiking trails. The scenic shoreline of Lake Havasu State Park is an ideal place to enjoy beautiful beaches, nature trails, boat ramps and convenient campsites.

Cattail Cove State Park offers 61 campsites, beach, boat ramp, picnic tables, grills, hiking trails, dump station and restrooms with showers. Whether you're interested in swimming, fishing or just lounging and relaxing, Cattail Cove State Park offers you and your family a chance to get away and enjoy tranquility along Lake Havasu.

Buckskin Mountain State Park offers 68 camping units, 21 cabana sites, beach, trails, boat ramp, picnic area, basketball and volleyball courts, playground, clothing boutique, restaurant, camp store, arcade and gas dock.

River Island offers a 37 units and group-use area with ramadas, sandy beach, boat launch, and horseshoe pits.
