Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area Celebrates State Parks'
50 Years with "Success through Partnerships" on June 16

(Phoenix, Arizona - May 29, 2007) - Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area will present "Success through Partnerships" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 16.

"Success through Partnerships" is an event celebrating Arizona State Parks' 50th Anniversary and will also showcase some of our partners including U.S. Forest Service, Arizona Game & Fish and City of Show Low. There will be interpretive displays, demonstrations, living history presentations, performers and food and beverage. Arizona State Parks' 50th anniversary celebration will feature cake cutting with dignitaries under the Meadowlark Ramada at 12 p.m. 50th Anniversary displays will be featured including activities for children.

The Park Entrance Fee will be waived for this event. For more information call Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area at (928) 537-3680. The park is located two miles north of US 60 off Highway 260 in Show Low, Arizona.

This event is part of Arizona State Parks 50th Anniversary celebration held from October 2006 through December 2007. Special events will be held at each park such as a traditional mariachi festival, plein air shows, an apple festival, geocaching, solar energy celebrations and astronomy galas. Hiking, fishing, boating and mountain biking await those individuals with an adventurous attitude. Come uncover the many secret places and stories that are still to be found in Arizona's State Parks.

The Arizona State Parks Board was established in 1957 to acquire and manage park and cultural areas. Over the years, legislation has added other programs to Arizona State Parks and as a result, the volunteer Board is responsible for a much broader spectrum of duties. These duties are related to historic preservation, archaeology, outdoor recreation, resource conservation/education and grant administration.
