McFarland State Historic Park Open Seven Days a Week; Re-enactors on February 10th

(Phoenix, AZ - January 24, 2007) - McFarland State Historic Park is now open seven days a week, two new rangers have been added to the staff and the park's future focus will be Law & Order in Territorial Arizona.

s and check out McFarland State Historic Park on Saturday, February 10th. In conjunction with the town's Annual Florence Historic Home Tour, the park will have civilian and military re-enactments from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Territorial Brass Band will also perform.

Terri Leverton has joined the staff as the new assistant manager. She has worked for State Parks for more than 16 years and, in the past, has worked at Fort Verde State Historic Park and Tubac Presidio State Historic Park, among others.

David Ravert has joined the staff as a seasonal park ranger. He is the son of Jerry Ravert, manager of Oracle State Park, and has been on board since mid-November.

Future exhibits will interpret how the various efforts by peace officers, the military, civilians, and the Indian Police made statehood possible in 1912. There are also plans to reconstruct the 1882 jail where two men were lynched.
