“Once in a Blue Moon” concert at Oracle State Park on June 30th

(Phoenix, Arizona – June 28, 2007) - The Friends of Oracle State Park will host a “Once in a Blue Moon” concert on Saturday, June 30th at 7:30 p.m. at Oracle State Park.

The concert will feature “Diamond Jim” Hewitt on fiddle and mandolin, David Liers on guitar and vocals, and “Doc” Whitmore on bass.  The performance includes folk, Celtic, bluegrass, blues and roots Americana music.  “Diamond Jim” will unveil new electronic soundscapes and light show visualizations from his CD, “Standing Stones of Beara,” as well as new, unreleased works.  After a brief intermission, Jennifer and Mark Robertson-Tessi will take the stage. Jenny will play harp and Mark will play guitar and mandolin, followed by an ensemble performance of Midnight Moonlight, and other tunes. 

The proceeds from the “Once in a Blue Moon” concert at Oracle State Park will benefit the 2007 Fiesta de las Calabazas at Oracle State Park.  Tickets are $10 each. Children 13 and younger are free. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Park or at the entrance gate the night of the concert.

Oracle State Park is locate d approximately 45 minutes from Tucson, in the northern foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains near the community of Oracle in southern Pinal County.
