Opt to Act This Black Friday with Arizona State Parks & Trails

November 12, 2019

PHOENIX – Arizona State Parks & Trails is teaming up with REI for the fifth year in a row to motivate people to opt outside on Black Friday and enjoy parks throughout the state.

This year, Arizona State Parks & Trails and REI are encouraging people to Opt to Act by taking part in a nationwide day of action to leave the world better than we found it. To get started, pick up a free day-use pass for entrance to more than 30 beautiful Arizona state parks. Just stop by the Arizona State Parks & Trails Outdoor Recreation Information Center (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or an REI store in Flagstaff, Chandler, Paradise Valley, Tucson from November 18-22 and grab your pass to explore.

Visit one of your state parks and camp, hike, tour a cave, stay in a cabin or just relax in nature. Then pledge that you’ll fight for the outdoors and kick off a year of change by taking part in a clean-up event and making sure to clean up after yourself. You can sign up to participate with REI on Friday, November 29 or check www.rei.com/opt-outside for clean-up events and actions all year long.

Choose the parks this holiday season and let your parks inspire you! Adventure and amazing stories await you on Black Friday and any day of the year. Tell us your story by posting a photo on Facebook or Instagram @AZStateParks with the hashtag #OptOutside.
